entry 10 Here Comes the Boom

Howdy MY readers
Have you ever worked so hard to keep a surprise and then ruin it yourself? That's how my weekend went. My fiancés birthday was on Sunday so I wanted to make the whole weekend a celebration. I had been planning all month to make her birthday extremely special. I had things for her to do Friday and Saturday during the day but I was most excited to give her the surprise Saturday night. I had planned with all her friends to meet us for dinner Saturday night in Scottsdale. Everything was going smooth and I had kept a pretty good poker face all day until I made an epic mistake. When it was time to go to the restaurant, I lost my cool factor and in a way spilled the beans. As we walked in and headed to the hostess desk I looked over and saw that not all of our friends had showed up yet. I then blurted out, "actually we will be back we are gonna go on a walk". As I looked at my very smart and clever fiancés face I instantly knew she was not fooled. She let me play it cool as we walked out of the restaurant but as we headed down the street she cracked a smile and said, " so how long do we need to stall until our friends show up so I can eat?" Luckily Karlie made a whole joke out of the thing and helped window browse with me to stall time. I was so upset because I worked so hard to keep it a secret for weeks and as it was finally unraveling, I ruined it. After our fake stalling was over we headed to the restaurant and met our friends for dinner, I had to admit to everyone I dropped the ball, but I was okay with that. As long as Karlie was happy and enjoying her time I was happy and enjoying my time....and trying to forget about my failed attempt. Once the birthday weekend was over I was sadly relieved. I love doing things for Karlie but it sure feels good when I don't have to keep secrets.

  1. That was so sweet, and cute. And it wasn't your fault. Your friends should have shown up way earlier to make sure everything was perfect. Thank you for sharing this. It's awesome to see someone treat someone else so special.

  2. These are interesting posts. The next step is to continue to push yourself to make connections beyond just the telling of the topic at hand as well as to engage the reader visually by incorporating pictures, links, videos, etc.
