Entry 5

This clip to Wall-E when all the people are sitting the their chairs not walking and talking on their projected people and eating when told to and having the small children pretty much be brainwashed in teaching has been talked about in this Lestina family! It goes hand and hand with my post about technology; will the world come to this? Not in my generation but can it. I believe someday if we do not go and try to stay either where we are now or try to go back and live how it was back a couple of years ago, the future of our kids, kids, kids may not be funny but may end up just like this children’s movie. This clip seems to be dead one point to me, like I said I don’t believe that I will ever see this but I think some people who haven’t been created yet will. And if that’s what the future looks like I will be happy if I don’t see it.

For instance when the man falls of his little transportation chair that he never leaves he needs a robot to help him to his own feet, because he can’t  even get up on to the chair? I mean come on is that what people are going to be doing in the future? To never leave a single chair for your whole life, makes me feel claustrophobia just thinking about it. That is the way we are going I believe, we tend to already be to depend on technology but obviously this clip is the extreme of it, but it almost feels to me as if they are foreshadowing the future for us.

Another tid-bit that was thrown in the clip was when the little students are learning how to do their alphabet. When the ROBOT is showing the children A they say for “Acsum your home sweet home.”  Just simply showing that they are brainwashing the children to totally rely on where there home is. Is this foreshadowing for what is going to be happening? I am not truly sure. Is this showing us what the school system is doing today? I’m not totally sure about that either. But can it be YES totally I just am not going to answer those questions because I don’t really know how they work. But his clip is defiantly food for thought about our future.
Could this be us?

  1. Good job of pulling out some specifics from the clip to consider and discuss in your post.
